Delicious Belgian Meads

Here we go - literally fruit bombs! But we haven’t forgotten the exceptional single-flower meads. We’ve brought Belgian meads from The Blacksmith's Meadery and De Mederie to the Czech Republic.
The Blacksmith's Meadery – From Heather Honey to Peaches and Barley
Gert Smet primarily produces melomels, but also traditional meads ranging from semi-sweet to very sweet. Occasionally, he ventures into wine or apple meads and other specialties. What began as experimental batches has become a permanent selection that he offers continuously.We have currently brought in 10 types of meads – 2 natural, 6 melomels, 1 bragot, and 1 cyser. Personally, I always appreciate the natural meads the most, where you can truly savor the pure taste of honey. So for me, the clear choice is the orange honey or heather honey mead. Fans of fruit-infused meads will surely be drawn to the three “blood” meads – Sanguis Imperatoris, Regis, and Nobilis, with the last two available in the Plus Ultra version. Those of you who attended the March tasting “Ohlasy Mead Madness Cupu” have been eagerly waiting for the juicy, perfectly named Son of Peach… Yes, I promised it a long time ago, and promises are meant to be kept. The last bottles from the producer are now available in the e-shop! The same goes for many other varieties, most of them limited editions that may not return for years. A highlight is the braggot with quite a long name: I Wanna Brag About This Rum Barrel Aged Braggot. And it wouldn’t be Belgium if at least one mead didn’t feature chocolate :) So hurry for Lux in Tenebris, where white chocolate melts in honey and blueberry juice.
All meads from The Blacksmith's Meadery are produced using the cold method, with some also aged in barrels. Their melomels contain a generous amount of fruit and have earned numerous awards at international competitions.
De Mederie
De Mederie was founded by Jorre Vanhemmens, who began as a passionate brewer at the age of 18. He wanted to use his experience to create lesser-known, delicious drinks and started producing mead and cider. All meads are made using the cold method and aged in barrels. Although he has only completed a few batches so far, nearly all have already won medals in international competitions.
He started in 2020 with the raspberry-blackcurrant melomel Blood Honey Sex Magik, and continues with blackcurrant in Black River and Double Black River, following the style of rich American fruit meads. Up to 1 kg of blackcurrants per liter of mead is used. They say you cannot step into the same river twice, but with the "Black River" full of honey and blackcurrants, that rule does not apply. It will captivate you forever :D
Finally try the Vintage Barrel Aged Megablend, which was aged for 4 years in various whisky barrels and then matured in a bourbon barrel. The prices of meads from small international producers are not low, but mead connoisseurs will hardly resist. For these higher-end meads, we stock only by the carton – 1 bottle for tasting, 5 bottles for sale.
